After breakfast, departure for Mirissa.En route you will take a boat trip on the Madu Ganga river.Later we will visit the typical local mask factory in Ambalangoda.All traditional Sri Lankan masks are created based on ancient myths, legends and folklore. In the factory and in the Ambalangoda museum you will be able to see a selection of 120 hand-carved masks divided into those of the Gods, Yakksha (Demons), Raksha (Monsters), human beings, animals and masks that contain several elements. It will be an experience in which you will be amazed in front of some masks as far as they are real, and discover how some of them are finely sculpted like that of Nari Latha while there are those who will enjoy themselves in front of the sumptuous Sanni Mask. There are a series of vibrant, beautiful masks carved with different expressions and shapes that you will admire in ecstasy. These masks are one of the most purchased gadgets during a trip to Sri Lanka as a piece of furniture, and you can buy them in the museum shop.After lunch in a restaurant, the city tour of Galle continues.Visit the city of Galle, the main city on the southern coast where you can admire the massive Portuguese and Dutch fortress of the seventeenth century in which the main nucleus of the city is contained. After breakfast departure to Tissamaharamaya.Along the way we will stop to admire the famous stilt fishing in Weligama.Lunch at local restaurantArrival at the hotel and check in.In the afternoon visit to Kataragama. Located in the deep south of the country: it is a sanctuary dedicated to God Skanda (Murugan) the God of love and war venerated in the Devala since the second Century BC by King Dutugemunu (167-137aC).Today Kataragama is a place of worship for Buddhists, Hindus and some Muslims.This is a very popular pilgrimage site for Hindus in southern India. Here it is told how the god of Kataragama came from India, he married a girl from the jungle and lived here. When his Indian wife found this place, she refused to go back so much that everyone who lived here was happy.There are separate shrines for the two wives: Tevani Amman Kovil for his Indian wife and Valli Amman Kovil for his Sri Lankan wife. During the month of July there is a ten day party with a procession. The alarm will sound very early and with the packed breakfast you will leave for a safari in the Yala park in a jeep. Arriving in the park, you will settle down to leave in the afternoon by jeep to go on a safari at the Yala National Park: one of the largest parks covering an area of almost 1,200 km2 among bushes, lagoons and rocky excavations and is particularly suitable for observing the elephants leopards crocodiles and many other animals.Later we leave for Nuwara Eliya, and along the way we will make a brief stop to admire the "Ravana falls" waterfall and then visit a tea factory and its plantation. After breakfast at the hotel we leave for Kandy.During the journey a TEA factory and its plantation will be visited. * optional - Train journey from Peradeniya to Nanu Oya - USD 15 per person. (Tickets are highly subject to availability and can be confirmed only one month prior to travel date.)Tea Factory & plantation visit will be missed with this option.Once in Kandy, lunch will be served at a local restaurant.Visit the sacred Temple of Tooth Relic. Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Tooth Relic) in Kandy is the most venerated place of worship for Buddhists throughout the world.The main landmark of the hill capital - the temple of the tooth relic is the pride of Buddhists in Sri Lanka and the world. Located in the heart of Kandy city, right in front of the green waters of Nuwara Wewa, the white walls of the temple and the cloud-shaped roofs surround the temple grounds. Inside the wall, the ancient temple stands majestically surrounded by a moat, its golden roof shining in the sunlight while pilgrims dressed in white wearing lotus flowers flock to worship the sacred relic of Lord Buddha's teeth. The present temple was built mainly under the kings of Kandyan from 1687 to 1707. The embellishments of the temples in wood and ivory and the elaborate frescoes bear the strong signs of Kandyan artistic styles. The relic of the tooth is placed in seven golden chests and pilgrims are only allowed to see it a few meters from the altar. After breakfast, departure for Negombo. If possible with the return flights, we will visit the Pinnawela orphanage. * Pinnawela visit is only possible for late evening and night departure flights. For earlier flight reduction is USD 25 per person for removing Pinnawela visit.
